Vacation

My vacation starts today at 2 p.m.  Can’t wait!

What are you all doing for the Memorial Day holiday weekend?

How do you keep on track with eating right and exercise during vacations?  That is the question.

Here are some things I plan to do:

  • Get up early in the morning and walk/jog
  • Eat heathy 80% of the time (you have to allow yourself to cheat a little bit)
  • Text my friends/accountability partners who are on the same fitness journey as me
  • Throw in some crunches, lunges, push-ups, etc

Good thing the iPhone has this really cool ap called workout trainer.  It has a ton of different workouts, including timers, video instructions, personal trainer ‘voice’, etc.  It’s a great thing to use when you are away from your gym.

There is a free version, and also a paid version. I bought the paid version for access to more of the workouts.  It’s worth it! 🙂

Plant Protein

I was trying to switch up my protein intake from pretty much all animal protein to some plant-based protein.  I was at the Vitamin Shoppe the other day, intending to buy Sun Warrior, which I heard is pretty good.  Instead, I bought some Pure Green Protein because it was on sale.  Oh my…what a MISTAKE!  This stuff was totally nasty!!!  I bought the chocolate flavor and mixed some in with my Shakeology hoping that would help cut the “plant” taste.  Wrong.  It was so gross.  It totally ruined my Shakeology, and I ended up dumping half the shake down the sink! 😦

Do you guys know of any good tasting plant protein powders?

I’m thinking I will go back and buy Sun Warrior.  Have you tried it?  If so, what do you think? 

At least it has pretty good reviews.

Day Dreaming

Happy Friday!

I made it through boot camp last night followed by BodyBlade. Thank goodness yesterday’s boot camp was all legs (glutes and saddlebags – Ha!). However, BodyBlade was arms of course. Seeing as my arms killed from Wednesday night’s boot camp, it was a little rough to say the least. And today, my forearm is killing me. I don’t think I’ve ever had a forearm hurt so bad. It is crazy! : (

I literally cannot lift my Brita water pitcher with my right arm in order to pour my water. No joke – It’s bad!!!

Can someone pour my water please?

5 Things NOT to eat before bed

This morning I heard on the radio some of the worst things you can eat before bed. Their list was comprised of:

  1. Ice Cream (of course, full of sugar and fat)
  2. Pasta (turns to fat – you are not burning it off)
  3. Candy Bar (who eats a candy bar before bed?)
  4. Celery (this is a weird one – I guess it is a diuretic so it keeps you up and running to the bathroom all night?!?)
  5. Coffee (obvious reasons)

Well, now that I know what to avoid, I am good to go right!? Or should I say, “good to sleep?”

Reminisce

Today I’ve been reminiscing about way way waaaaay back in… February (I know, usually when you Reminisce you go back years huh?) 😉

Today I am only going back two months… dreaming of my Bahamas vacation.

Oh to be back on the ship.. crusin’ the ocean… not a care in the world! (Other than, did I literally just eat all that??) 😉 It is so fun to daydream about the places you have been.
