Flax Bar

I came across my new favorite snack!  I was visiting The Better Health Store on Saturday (they have coupons for 15% off on Saturdays).

They had some samples there for an amazing and healthy, snack bar.  It’s called Flax Bar, it’s by Live Smart.

The chocolate one is my favorite! 😉

This bar is full of the good stuff (all ingredients you can pronounce).   It’s made with organic flax & oats.  It is vegan and wheat free.  It has up to 100% of daily omega-3 fatty acids.   AND… very low in calories!

I also LOVE the fact that it’s made in the USA, and only about 20 miles from me! 😉

 Last night’s workout

Last night’s workout was quite the challenge.  It was a “free night” at our gym.  We had a full house.  It was fun, we were doing some photos and such for the website.

First I did the boot camp class, which seemed harder than normal (maybe because I ate a semi-big dinner beforehand), and then BodyBlade.

It was fun to see new people give it all a whirl.   Some of us “regulars” were actually doing a bit of whining because they kicked our butt extra hard (probably for the photos – ha)!  All I can say is, my photo better look good or it ain’t goin’ on no website! 😉

I hope you all are having a fabulous Tuesday!

Happy Friday!

Yesterday’s boot camp and BodyBlade classes were brutal.  I made it through boot camp ok, but gosh my arms were so tired for BodyBlade.  That’s a good thing though, since my arms are what I really want to focus on toning!

 Morning Cardio & Breakfast

I got up this morning and just did some light cardio. My legs were pretty sore from the three boot camps (3 days in a row mind you) this week, so I wanted to get some blood flowing to them for recovery, without pushing too much resistance.

I ended up doing the elliptical on level two for 33 minutes, and that seemed good enough!

I went back home and couldn’t wait to dig into my overnight oats. This morning I added chia seeds for some extra “Omega-3 punch”.

Have you jumped on the “chia bandwagon”?

Chia Seeds are full of amazing health benefits!  Check out these stats…

Chia seeds are said to:

  • Boost energy
  • Balance your blood sugar
  • Help clean your intestinal tract (high in fiber)
  • Aid in weight loss (the fiber keeps you fuller longer)
  • Reduce the risk of heart disease
  • Lower blood pressure

… and much more!

I am going to be doing more baking with these amazing seeds!  Can’t wait to try them in my muffins! 😉

Questions of the Morning:

  • Do you cook/bake with chia seeds?
  • What is your favorite chia seed recipe?
